1. Single Network Vulnerability
Most installers insert a standard PAYG SIM card from a single network (like Vodafone or EE) into the gate’s GSM intercom. If that specific network’s local mast suffers an outage, experiences heavy congestion, or drops in power due to maintenance, your gate loses signal. It has no backup.
The Fix: Replace the standard SIM with an unsteered Multi-Network SIM (like Anywhere SIM). This SIM can access EE, O2, Vodafone, and Three. If one network drops, the SIM automatically connects to another, keeping your gate online 24/7.
2. Environmental Signal Degradation
Gates are outdoors, meaning their signal is at the mercy of the environment.
